Announcing the Food For All Discount Program

As of January 1st, 2014, Putney Co-op members who qualify for WIC, SNAP or SSI are eligible to receive a 10% discount every time they shop! Read on to find out more.

The bounty of fresh, great-tasting produce is just one reason to shop at the co-op!

What is Food For All?
Food For All is a discount program that we now offer to members. By signing up for this program, you can enjoy a 10% discount on your entire purchase at the Putney Co-op. (Alcohol and newspapers cannot be discounted.) Here’s how to enroll:

  1. Become a member for as little as $15 a year. (Full membership is a one-time payment of $75.)
  2. Fill out the Food For All application, available at the register.
  3. Bring a proof of eligibility into the store (WIC proof of delivery, 3SquaresVT notice of decision, or SSI check stub).
  4. Member Services will review your application and you will be notified within 2 weeks.
  5. Receive your Putney Co-op member card and welcome packet in the mail.
  6. Every time you shop, give your member number at the register. 10% discount will be automatically applied!
  7. Renew your membership in the program every year, based on eligibility.
Why become a member?
We use membership in the co-op as a way to provide this discount anonymously. The way we do this is by tying the 10% discount to your membership number.
There are more reasons to become a Putney Co-op member! They include:
  • Local ownership of an independent business.
  • Co-ops are democratic organizations. Any member can run for a spot on the Board of Directors. The board makes decisions about how to run the store.
  • The co-op supports the local economy by purchasing over 35% of its goods from local farmers and suppliers.
  • We are a great place to work and offer competitive salary and benefits packages to our employees.
  • The co-op donates regularly to local organizations and schools. We believe in giving back to our community.
  • When you become a full-fledged member at $75, you qualify for the annual Patronage Dividend, a profit-sharing rebate offered only to our members!
What about Senior Discount?
By offering the Food For All discount to seniors who draw Social Security Income, we are doing a better job of serving our elders. We plan to phase out of the 10% discount to seniors on Tuesdays by 2015. For now, we will continue to offer this discount to members and non-members over 60.
How do I find out more?
Call us at the store, (802)387-5866 ext. 110 to speak to Member Services. Or send an email to ptnyfe@sover.net.
Do you know someone who could qualify for this discount? Share this post with them and help us spread the word! We are working hard to ensure that more of our community has access to healthy, affordable food.
