Round-up for Community

The 2015-16 Roundup Fund recipients were: Putney Food Shelf: $837.15, Putney Cares: $758.15, and Putney Central School Farm to School Program: $792.15. At the October 20, 2016 Putney Food Co-op Annual Meeting, member owners voted to support the Putney Food Shelf, Putney Community Center and the Putney Central School Farm to School Program.

The Round-up Fund was started years ago by Bruce Whitney, as a way for neighbors to help neighbors by giving small amounts of money (literally pocket change) and donating it to support community based organizations.

Over the years the Putney Co-op has donated Round-up funds to organizations such as Putney Cares, Inc., the Putney Food Pantry, Putney Family Services, the Putney Rec. League, Putney Energy Committee, the Healthy Snack Program at Putney Central School, Putney Community Center, and others.

Nominations for Round-up recipients are accepting on a rolling basis, and will be voted on at each year’s Annual Meeting. Only community-based not-for-profits will be considered.
